How to disagree
LET'S PLAY:

GET READY: Pick any one issue of What's Up.

GET SET: On your own, look for something that you disagree with in or about that issue of What's Up. It could be words in an article, the selection of pictures, the way a contest is explained, the design and layout of the newspaper or anything else.

GO! Pair up with a classmate. Pretend that your classmate is the editor of What's Up and that you are a reader. Tell him all about what you disagree with. Explain your reasons. Use the suggestions for disagreeing kindly and politely. End by talking about how you would improve that aspect of the newspaper. When you are done, switch roles with your partner so that he becomes the person expressing his disagreement while you pretend to be the editor.

THINK ABOUT IT. How did you feel while you were presenting your points to the editor? What about when you pretended to be the editor receiving feedback?
